Grade "A" Accrediation by NAAC-UGC
The institute BRS College is established in rural area with specific goals and objectives concerning to provide rural education and development o rural society and nation. The programme BRS offers eight main subjects and seventeen other subjects which include Agriculture,Animal Husbandry,Hosticulture & Foresty, Rural Extension, Rural Economics, Gujarati,Hindi,English & other value based and Humanity Subjects.The institute also runs a post graduate centre for a programme of master of rural studies.
The NAAC is an autonomous body established by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of india to access and accredit institutions of higher education in the country.
This year (2006-2007) as many as 174 colleges in the country and 40 colleges of Saurashtra University- Rajkot, have participated in the assessment. Among them, only seven colleges received Grade "A" accreditaiton and one of them is the B.R.S. College - Dumiyani (affiliated to Saurashtra University - Rajkot (Gujarat).
Important curricular aspect of the course is to procedure efficient and skilled graduates. For that,each and every subject of Agriculture science and extension are framed with practical.moreover,there is a provision for training programme for final year students to devlop a clear concept and approach towards the field of employment in which they are going to serve in future.
For continuing attachment with learning and teaching the institute introduced internal evaluation. For the quality sustenance of BRS programme from beginning to till today syllabus have been revised three times.the institute have also developed mechanism for obtaining feedbacks from other institutes,academic peers,experts and students in written and also orally about the programme.
