Dumiyani is a little village having the population of just 5000 is situated in Upleta block of Rajkot district. The administrations for public - affairs are chiefly governed by Dumiyani Gram Panchayat in the same little village. there is Peoples Welfare Society the institution established in 1982 and chiefly multifocused in nature and works successfully and effectively in the filed of institution is remarkably working for the rural people, free-education to the children of poor families, female education, social-awareness for the social evils and etc. And because of all such collaborated activities the institution which is founded by Hon. Shree Balwantbhai Manawar the Former Member of Parliament has acquired the remarkable and respectable position on the map of Education of Gujarat. Hardly any educational institution is there in Gujarat which is situated in such a remote-rural area and is dedicated to work for the education, social upliftment and employment to the poor, back-ward class of people and for the down-trodden.
The basic purpose to introduce Pharmacy College by this institution PWS is to provide maximum higher, time and market demanded / based / education / the students specially from rural area. So that they can well equipped themselves with the time to time revised up date education. Though in Rajkot district, there is Pharmacy College but it is again remarkable that not even a single college is being established in such a far remote rural area. They all are situated in the urban city area, as a result it is a need to introduce one more Pharmacy College in a little village like Dumiyani.
Secondly, the institution is dedicatedly working to provide maximum update education to the poor and rural areas of students, here from K.G. to P.G., technical courses and even the B.Ed., P.T.C. like professional degree based courses are running. Here is the humble effort by the institution – PWS- to introduce Pharmacy College in such a remote rural area of Rajkot District so that from a one single place, the students can achieve up-date education in their convenient discipline.
The institute BRS College is established in rural area with specific goals and objectives concerning to provide rural education and development o rural society and nation. The programme BRS offers eight main subjects and seventeen other subjects which include Agriculture,Animal Husbandry,Hosticulture & Foresty, Rural Extension, Rural Economics, Gujarati,Hindi,English & other value based and Humanity Subjects.The institute also runs a post graduate centre for a programme of master of rural studies.
Important curricular aspect of the course is to procedure efficient and skilled graduates. For that,each and every subject of Agriculture science and extension are framed with practical.moreover,there is a provision for training programme for final year students to devlop a clear concept and approach towards the field of employment in which they are going to serve in future.
